Every guide on Guardian Gutter Guide follows the same process. This page explains how we research, who reviews the work, and how often we update it.
How we research prices
Our price ranges come from three sources: written quotes homeowners share with us, published rate sheets from regional installers, and material pricing at national home improvement retailers. We report a low, a national average and a high figure. The average is a typical quote for a typical suburban home, not a mathematical mean of every quote we have seen.
Who reviews each guide
A guide is written by one author and reviewed by a second person with field experience before it is published. The reviewer checks the price ranges, the technical explanations and whether the advice would hold up in a real inspection. Both names appear at the top of the guide.
How often we update
Cost guides are reviewed every six months and whenever material prices move by more than ten percent. Repair and product guides are reviewed once a year. The date at the top of each guide is the date of the last review, not the original publish date.
